Hi ! Good Morning ! Hallo!

Buenos Dias !  Guten Morgen !   Bon Jour !   Bon Giorno !
Goede Morgen ! Bom Dia ! God Dag !  Dobroye Ootro !  Godan Daginn !

       My name is Tom !
Welcome to Spain !  Bienvenido a España !

I guess I am a kind of a multilingual, Travelling Trader, and a Nomad !
I have  been on
The Road since 1995, travelling through  “The Spanish Fleamarkets”.
Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are our Scandinavian Languages, up on cold Iceland,
we tried to understand some of the Old Norwegian, and there under the Nothern Light,
we believed in Thor and Odin.
Then they tried to teach us some English and German in school.
As a young Sailor, working as  a Radio officer, “The Spark”, "Gnisten" they called me!
I learned the secrets of the Morse code, ...---... SOS,
Then sailed on the Seven Seas and saw The World.
A stop in Holland, a marriage and a daughter, gave me the gift of  trading Dutch,
that have come in handy many times on the Markets, both here in Spain, and Holland.
Thanks to Ineke and Angelita for giving me a great life together ! I love you both !
Some years in Spain, a wild Spanish girlfriend,
have given me some understanding for the Spanish language,
for all the love words, and also  for teaching me the bad and dirty words !
This and much more that you cannot find in any translating book,
and on the way I guess she taught me a lot about love and life under The Sun, too.
Muchas Gracias Catalina, I miss You!

It is HOT, I can tell you, down there, under The Mediterranean Sun !

      This is MY STORY about
“THE FLEA MARKETS IN SPAIN” !

I also try to introduce you to some of these great Travelling Traders that I happened to
meet on my tours. I am proud to call them my friends !
This edition is mainly covering the markets that I myself have visited and traded
on, so please, note, that there are much more to see. Some markets open up one year,
for to be gone the next year, others seems to live on for ever ! Changes all the time !
So if you are having any problem finding some of the listed markets, please check on the local tourist office, Internet or local newspapers in English, like

I found my first markets in the German CBN Magazine!
But check it out, a lot of these information are not up to date !
Then, off we goes from Valencia down to Gibraltar.
I wish you a happy stay, and if you try to adjust to the locals and their habits,
siestas, and all the fiestas, I think you will enjoy yourself and have fun !

Pegado al campo de fútbol de Mestalla en la plaza Luis Casanova

Rastro - Los domingos y algunos festivos por la mañana

Old txt to change.....working
VALENCIA***
Coming into Spain via Costa Brava, entering
Costa de Azahar, we find this lovely
market in Valencia.
Every Sunday 08.00 – 14.00
Location: The football stadium,
“Al Campo de futbol de Mestalla”
Size:           50-100
Visitors:      1000-2000
Admission:   Free
Dealer rate: 6 € (2005)
Availability:  Mostly reserved

The Spanish travelling traders are coming down here to meet every
Sunday. They bring really, good old antiques !
Doors 200 years old, furniture of all kind, lamps, clocks, old jars and
a great variety of stuff and people

These are great old antiques,
but, hey, look out for all these new replicas coming from India, Pakistan,
The Philippines and Thailand ! They are nice for decoration, as long as
you remember they are new. Do not trust a year of 1777 on a lovely,
old brass sextant, scale or any other nautical instrument.
Titanic 1912, is fairly common, on a ships bell.
But keep on the hunt, I bought a ship porthole in red bronce, and that was
the real thing. 50 € was a fair price too, but a heavy load to take home !

MARCHUQUERA*
Every Sunday 09.00 – 14.00
Place: Bar-Carril-Rastro
Size:   Small, 25
Visitors: 500
Admission: Free
Dealer rate: 6 €
Availability: Variable
Camp: No
Tlf: …………………….
This is placed by, “Tierschutzverein S.P.A. Palma de Gandia “ , and run
by a lovely Swiss couple. They bring homeless dogs up to their homecountry
for replacing, and take bric & brac down for sale. Great charity people !
He is a radio amateur, you will see the  big, beam antenna at his house.
Here some additional roadhelp is neccesary:
Driving on N-332, passing Gandia, you take off to Barx (Barig in some maps),
drive 3.5 km up, then take off to Bar Carril, Rastro, (Sign),
and soon you will realize that you are in the lovely countryside of
Southern Spain ! Olive trees, farmhouses and pure nature.

This small market is quiet cute, and you can have luck and strike gold !
I bought some silver, two great old paintings, and some china from
Switzerland. Look out, they seemed to open up new boxes all day long !
If you are hungry, and want some local potatoes and other fruit, go on,
this is a mixed market , genuine people and special atmosphere !
This is a relief from El Corte de Ingles and busy Valencia.

With your motothome through Marocco ! A very special holiday !
We are an easy living pair from Switzerland, we take every year from January
to March a maximum of 8 motorhomes on a tour through Marocco !

Through a total of 3800 km, nearly all asfalted roads, camping in Official
Campingsites, secure and without any stress !
No rallye ! No Convoy !
We are driving after a roadbook and we offer a complete price with ferry and campings !

DENIA**
Every Friday since 1998. 08.00-14.00
Location: Plaza Jaime Primero, Rastro.
Size: 100-150 stalls ( 105 dealers June 2004)

Roadhelp : Coming from N-332, dir. Denia,         Make her smile and keep on
driving through several roundabouts,                  trading, give her and us
you get McDonalds and LIDL on your                  spirit  & energy to go on !
left, passing through the next one, and               Note:
then take right driving straight to the                  This market can sometimes
